Yext
I specialized in delivering custom store locator websites for major brands, such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's, and Sleep Number, optimizing them for local SEO to enhance visibility and user engagement. Working on tight deadlines, I consistently completed high-quality, multi-page websites in just 2-3 weeks. To improve internal workflow, I developed a CLI tool using Go and Bash that automated syncing localization files by interfacing with the Smartling API. Additionally, I collaborated with Android and iOS developers around the world to integrate Yext's advertising SDK into apps with a combined 5 million monthly active users.
Fundrise
I co-designed and implemented the User Account Levels feature from the ground up, tailoring offerings to customers based on their portfolio holdings to drive increased investment activity. This long-term initiative involved developing multiple suites of automated onboarding emails to engage users and encourage them to explore newly available features. Additionally, I overhauled the Transactions page to enhance clarity and usability. Collaborating with the Accounting and Real Estate departments, I created internal reporting tools that empowered data-driven decision-making and significantly boosted company efficiency.
Entrepreneurship
As a co-owner of Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast and the COO of Freedom Analytics, I honed my leadership and problem-solving skills in dynamic and fast-paced environments. At Freedom Analytics, I managed a team of up to 100 employees and developed automated processes that reduced task times by 50-90%, showcasing my ability to streamline operations and drive efficiency. At Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast, I oversee day-to-day operations and guest services, ensuring exceptional experiences for both customers and staff. These ventures have strengthened my strategic thinking, team leadership, and adaptability—skills that complement my technical expertise and prepare me for success in software engineering roles.
Projects
Developed as part of Yext's Pages product, this project is a fully responsive website that helps users locate their nearest Ferragamo store and view key store details. Built using Soy templates, SCSS, and CoffeeScript, the website is optimized for local SEO and adheres to WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards, ensuring a seamless and inclusive user experience.
I implemented the redesign of the Transactions page for Fundrise, enhancing usability and user experience on both mobile and desktop platforms. Transaction details are initially hidden for ease of navigation, with users able to expand them as needed, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for investors. The project utilized Java and MySQL for the backend, with AngularJS powering the frontend.
Designed and developed a website for Freedom Analytics to streamline hiring efforts. The landing page highlighted key facts about the company and showcased benefits, while the Careers page provided comprehensive details for the job and encouraged candidates apply. Built with SvelteKit and deployed on Netlify, the website offered a modern, responsive, and user-friendly experience to attract talent.
